“C’EST magnifique” would be an apt comment about a trip to France by Hucknall angler Dave Williams, who makes a speciality of catching monster fish. During a week’s fishing on the nine-acre lake at Jonquoy, near Paris, he landed a trio of Sturgeon with a total weight of more than 78lb The female of this species is famous as the source of the luxury food, caviar. But all three of Dave’s sturgeon were male, which are regarded as surplus to requirements! The biggest weighed 32lb 8oz, while the others were 24lb and 22lb, all fell to boilies. He was featured recently in one of our newspapers - The Dispatch, two months ago for landing a bumper haul of about 100lb of fish at Horseshoe Lake in Gloucestershire. This included a massive bream of 13lb 10oz.
