Our Club meets at the Vale Social Club, Colwick, Nottingham, on the second Wednesday in each month (except July and August) at 7.30 PM.

Our Club holds matches at various venues, in addition to matches at Colwick, each month during the fishing season. We have around 42 members and enjoy registered membership of the British Disabled Anglers Association. We promote unity between able bodied and disabled people in the enjoyment of fly fishing.

Membership is open to all persons worthy of credence who hold a current adult EA Licence and the annual membership subscription payable on joining and in January each consecutive year is £10.00 at this time. Applications for Membership can be made online from our web site, and appropriate forms are always available from the Colwick Park Lodge.

Various incentives are provided, made possible by subscriptions and donations, for the promotion of fly fishing activities for all members.

We are always appreciative of any gift of unused fly-fishing tackle to facilitate and enable disabled persons, members or not, to enjoy fly fishing.

For further information please contact the Club Secretary.

Minutes of Previous Meeting

The Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and they were proposed By Robin Soar and seconded by John Parnham as a true record before being signed by Keith Prowting for the absent Chair. (It was not appropriate for the acting Chair to sign his own minutes).

The Chair indicated that as well as this being the time for the Monthly Meeting it was a night for presentations and social with a buffet. This being the case he requested that business was limited as far as practicable, with any non-urgent matters being deferred to the next meeting. This was accepted.

Secretary's Report

The Secretary had contacted the Council to discover that the fly fishing fees for Colwick Park had still not been published.

He reported that our Club has now been registered with the British Disabled Anglers Association (documentary evidence is included in these minutes) and that he had inform Mark Sunderland of this development and signposted him to all relevant information at the BDDA.

He also reported that David Inglis had arranged with Thornton Management a discount for members at the Fishery Tackle Shop. This was evidenced by an email requested by the Secretary and delivered by Thornton (a copy of which is included in these minutes).

The Secretary had also arranged a discount with Gremlin Angling (documentary evidence is included ion these minutes) in the USA with cheap UPS postage.

Treasurer's Report

The modus operandi for accounting was covered in the minutes of the previous meeting and the changeover from the retiring Treasurer to the current Treasurer was proceeding.

The previous month's balance sheet was prominently displayed in the meeting room for the information of all members and the Treasurer stated that this would happen at each meeting to give Members a proper opportunity to study the figures.

There were no matters arising from the balance sheet.

The treasurer was asked how many fully paid up members existed and there were 23 registered and in addition two e-mail applications for membership had been made where payment had been requested and promised. Technically we have 25 members.

Match Secretary's Report

Due to the absence of Rosemary Gunn there was no report. Keith Prowting had expressed a wish to continue supporting the Match Secretary by collating match information and his help was much appreciated.

Web Site

It was reported that the web-site continues to grow with more information and mention was made of the forum facility which gave members the opportunity to air their views and make any statement they wished- provided that they signed their contribution. Entries at this time to be submitted through the Secretary although this may be by-passed in the future.
Also, he had arranged that our Club web site now appears on the Google and other search engines.

AOB

A question was raised regarding the provision of Barley Straw at Colwick and this was already in the waters.

The Secretary was asked to make enquiries regarding the provision of concessions in fly fishing fees at Colwick for retired persons ands those with disabilities. The secretary will see what can be done -probably in time for next season due to committee procedures at the Council.

As regards the Sea Fishing trip, provisional arrangement has been made by Robin soar for 10 rods on 13 August 2006. Names ASAP please.

The Next monthly meeting was to be on 12 April 2006.

There being no other business the conduct of the meeting was handed over to Keith Prowting who ably made the presentation of trophies to the monthly match winners who were present.

The meeting closed at 9.05pm and was followed by an excellent buffet and social interaction for our Members.

NB Where the minutes reference documents, these appear only in the Minute Book itself and can be viewed at any meeting at any time.
