Fishing three rods...

My wife and I fish both club and commercial waters. We have never experienced any problems on the club waters even where fishermen do use 3 rods or more. This is because the waters are well pegged apart and the rule is you only fish halfway to the next fisherman in any direction.

But where we have heard a lot of abuse (some of which is not pleasant) has been at commercial fisheries, this is I believe due to the amount of pegs that are crammed in or in some cases no pegs at all, and where fishermen that have paid for 3 rods feel that what ever water they can see from their peg is ok to fish.

There could a simple solution to this, part of which I saw at a fishery in Devon where a map of the lake with boundaries for each peg clearly marked, and (rule 1) fish outside your boundary and you will be asked to leave.

The other part of the solution is 1 rod 1 peg, 2 rods 2 pegs 3 rods 3 pegs ect. This will then control the number of rods on a lake and the area available to each fisherman.

This would require a little work and organisation by the fishery owner but it might help to stop the arguments of who can fish where and possible cut down on the foul language.
