Good Luck!
WE would like to wish the Worksop Senior squad good luck in tomorrow’s
Division Two NFA National Championships on the Grand Union Canal in
Northamptonshire.
The two team captains Gordon Smith and Mark Pressley together with the
rest of the 10-man squad Richard Turner, Phil Turner, Garry Doddworth,
Brian Gibson, Adrian Higginbottom, Steve Bircumshaw, Dave Hooper and
Steve Sheppard, have been travelling down on a regular basis for the
last few weeks to fish practice sessions and open matches, but have
been finding the fishing hard in some sections.
Gordon Smith said: “All the squad members have put in lots of
hard work over the last month and with a favourable draw and a little
bit of luck, we can hopefully win promotion back to Division One, where
we belong.”
The Worksop and District AA is running the traditional Holme Church
charity match at Holme Marsh on the association’s waters on the
River Trent on 16th September. The draw is to take place at 8.30am at
the cattle grid with a £13 entry fee. For further details or to
register you can call Gordon on 01909 477399.
Gordon added that the marsh is fishing well to traditional float tactics,
the stickfloat in any pegs with a reasonable flow and the waggler in
the steadier swims.
We are still looking for your enteries for the fish of the year competition
from the Worksop AA waters, so keep your entries coming in for your
chance to win the £100 first prize of tackle vouchers.
