Charity Match

We start this week with news of an open charity match in memory of popular Edwinstowe angler and Grafton AA stalwart Rod Clarke.
The match is to be held on the Grafton, John Shaw and Lock Keeper lengths on the Chesterfield Canal on Saturday 1st July.
A guaranteed first prize of £100 is on offer with three section prizes also up for grabs. All proceeds are in aid of Macmillan Nurses and the cost is all in at £10 with the draw at 8.30am. Tickets are available from Ken Wards Sports on Carlton Road.
We would like to join Worksop AA in recognising the 40 years of involvement by Bill Parnham who has been responsible over the years as a voluntary fundraiser for the juniors, and in recent years as a trustee for the association.
Bill, who was bricklayer by trade, was honoured along with his wife Margaret at the executive meeting last month.
Popular local venue Harthill Lakes is now a syndicate-only water with day tickets no longer available from this week.
The good news is, however, that although the full syndicate membership is full there are a number of ‘dawn until dusk’ memberships left at a cost of only £30 for the year and syndicate representative Peter Tingle informs us that there are plans in the pipeline for a winter pike syndicate.
The lakes hold a great quantity of quality fish with big carp and pike as well as tench and silvers, for information contact Peter on 07724 076050.
