Inter-school match all set for cast-off

About a year ago Ian Pickerskil mentioned to us that he and John Hammond had tried to get an inter-schools challenge fishing match off the ground, but had abandoned the idea because of lack of support and negative feedback.
But, a good idea is a good idea and as we are not above plagiarism, we are pleased to announce the first inter-schools fishing match will be held on Thursday 20th July at Diawa Hallcroft, Retford.
Fortunately we have not been dogged by the lack of enthusiasm that plagued Ian, and at the present time we have gained the support of Diawa Hallcroft who are letting us have the pegs at a greatly reduced rate and are putting up £100 of tackle in sponsorship.
We also have lots of support from the Worksop and District AA who have really got on board to help us with this venture.
Also taking a supporting role is Bassetlaw Leisure Services and of course the Worksop Guardian who will be providing the trophies.
The event is open to all secondary schools in the Guardian catchment area and is limited to a maximum of 10 teams. The schools have been informed and we have already had a firm confirmation from five teams, so if your school has not already replied remind your teachers to do so as quickly as possible.
If there is anyone else who would like to help or support this event in whatever capacity contact either of us on the numbers at the top of the page or email us at roachpole10@aol.com.
