Great Support

The great and the good of Worksop’s angling community came out last weekend to support the race night in aid of WDAA’s junior anglers.
Considering the limited numbers who attended the Innings, a slightly disappointing 42, an incredible total of £555.50 was raised.
A major part of this was due to the auction race which raised £71 and also provided the same amount to the winning owners Stuart and Sharon Gray with their horse Jasmin.
But all who attended got into the spirit of things with every aspect of the races, including running the tote, organised by Kevin and Jed of the Babworth Charities.
And we can certainly recommend them for anyone considering any fundraising event.
Other games on the night included place the dace and a raffle with numerous donated prizes.
Thanks must go to Garry and Doreen Butt, Glyn Fowles, Mick Pogson and everyone else who supported the event.
A special mention must also go to The Innings’ landlord, Steve, who not only hosted the event (the pie and peas were lovely) but supported the event financially.

Through the grapevine
Don’t forget that as of tomorrow (Saturday 1st April) you must be in possession of a new rod licence which can be obtained from any Post Office.
There is no excuse for not having one and a hefty fine is inevitable if you are caught without one.
Denise Payne of Worksop Piscatorials would like us to let all members know that the club AGM will be held at The Innings on Tuesday 11th April starting at 7pm prompt.
