Traditional
end to angling season
With the traditional fishing season coming to an end, we thought it
would be a good idea to inform you of the availability of local waters
after 14th March.
Worksop and District Angling Association’s waters on the tidal
and non-tidal River Trent and Torksey Arm are closed until Fridey 16th
June.
While the association’s waters on the Chesterfield Canal are also
closed from Drakeholes Basin through to the Hop Pole public house at
Retford.
However, the canal remains open from the Hop Pole through to West Retford
Bridge.
All of Sandhill Lake remains open as well as Woodsetts Quarry Pond and
whisker barb hooks are allowed on all the association’s waters.
Also fish can be retained for short periods of time in keep nets.
The Grafton AA’s length of the Chesterfield Canal is shut for
the close season but Worksop United’s stretch remains open to
permit holders only.
To our knowledge, all the local commercial fisheries are open all year
so there are no excuses, get out there and wet your lines.

when they are finalised.
