New competition
for Worksop anglers
ANGLERS on Worksop and District Anglers’ Association waters could
be in the running for £100 worth of tackle vouchers thanks to
a brand-new competition launched this week.
Simply, the best specimen fish caught in 2006 on the association’s
waters will land the prize.
For example a 2lb roach from the Chesterfield Canal, a 5lb chub from
the River Trent or a 6lb bream or tench from Sandhill Lake or Woodsetts
Ponds would be in the running.
We would also like to point out that this is not just open to Worksop
book holders but also to day ticket anglers as well.
The competition is being run in conjunction with Ken Ward’s Sports,
WDAA and us – Roger and Stuart.
In order to enter you must submit a photograph of your catch, which
has preferably been weighed and witnessed by a balliff or independent
party, to either Ken Ward Sports, Carlton Road or email it to ROACHPOLE10@AOL.COM.
Unfortunately, submitted photographs cannot be returned.
The judging panel will consist of members of the WDAA committee, WDAA
bailiffs, Stuart and Roger and one fish per month will be selected to
go forward to the final judging process at the end of the year.
The £100 worth of vouchers, redeemable at Ken Ward’s Sports,
will be presented to the winning angler in December.
On more of a sour
note, there has been a spate of tackle thefts from garden sheds and
garages. Please be on your guard and check your security and insurance
policies.
