THANK you to all of you who sent us your concerns and offers of help over the flooding and we would particularly like to thank the Salvation Army who were absolutely amazing throughout all of the problems we both encountered.
We will be continuing to do the column as usual but can we ask those of you who posted results to our home address to send them via phone, email or by dropping them in to the Guardian office until further notice.
We apologise if we have missed any match results or fixtures but as you can appreciate we are still having more than a few problems. We were not the only ones to be hit by the floods and we would like to offer our condolences to those of you who are probably worse off than we are.
Many of the commercials, rivers and still waters are also heavily affected and it will probably be a while before the column reverts to its established format so bear with us over the next few weeks.
Worksop and DAA will keep you updated on all the developments regarding matches and fixtures. This coming weekend sees the cadets, juniors and intermediates of Worksop and DAA competing in the NFA nationals on the Grand Union Canal near Milton Keynes.
With their past record in this event no-one will be surprised if they come back with the silver wheel and we would like to wish all the youngsters and coaches Glenn Fowler and Garry and Doreen Butt all the best in the event.
On the subject of junior angling, our fun day on Sunday 15th July, run in conjunction with Worksop and DAA, takes place at Lakeside Fisheries at Ranskill at 4pm.
Anyone under 16 who is interested, whether they are experts or absolute beginners, please contact us on either of the above phone numbers or via the email address.
The Worksop DAA annual junior Friday night match is to be fished on 20th July at Sandhill Lakes with the draw taking place at 5pm with fishing between 6pm and 8pm. Entry is open to any youngster in possession of a Worksop DAA junior members book (match entry £2) which costs a very reasonable £5 from any of the town’s three tackle shops and enables you to fish all the association’s waters free of charge as well as other benefits.

LAKESIDE ROUND-UP
THE best match weight of the week fell in last Wednesday’s Wickersley AC event on the main lake where Phil Morgan pole fished meat from peg 21 to put a winning mixed net together of 94lb 10oz, with 85lb required to make the frame.
On Saturday, the Vale AC of Bolsover held their club match on the main lake where Paul Elliott again employed pole fished meat to take a winning silver fish net of 57lb 4oz from peg 31.
The strip ponds are still producing excellent mixed nets of carp, goldfish, skimmers, tench and roach with Worksop’s Dave Smith bagging himself a net of more than 150lb from peg three on the first strip. Dave landed numerous carp to 14lb 3oz using pole fished sweet corn and luncheon meat.
On the carp lake, Phil Pendlebury banked himself leviathans which was topped by a common scaling 22lb 8oz off peg two. On the next peg, Shaun Patterson landed nine specimens which included five 20s to a 21lb 10oz mirror.
Over on the trout lake, Worksop rod Jim Walker cast his white fritz on an intermediate line to tempt 10 fish which included a fine rainbow of 9lb 8oz with Terry Gough landing 12 fish to 4lb on black buzzers and floating line.

DAIWA HALLCROFT ROUND-UP
THE Retford venue has also been badly affected by the floods and we would recommend that you contact the fishery before venturing out.

RIVERSIDE ROUND-UP
DESPITE the best efforts of John and the team, the Scrooby venue remains closed until further notice.
Even with his own problems John was quick off the mark to offer us any help with our own predicamnent for which we are really grateful.
Please do not visit the fishery without first contacting John on 01302 711889.

LODGE FARM ROUND-UP
WEDNESDAY evening’s match on the field pond was dominated by pole fished meat which accounted for the top three weights: 1st Keith Noble 54lb 9oz peg 24; 2nd Daz Godley 49lb 4oz peg six; 3rd Les Richmond 41lb 2oz peg 26.
Bill also tells us that the 100lb barrier was broken four times last week twice on the lily and twice on Long Island.

Toft Newton Trout Fishery
SEVENTY-EIGHT rods took 232 fish, the best being a 4lb 2oz rainbow to Teresa Warner from Haxey on a pheasant tail nymph with red thorax.
There is plenty of fish on top when the sky is overcast with Shipman’s buzzers, invictas, damsels and sedge patterns working well. Excellent evening rises and large hatches of sedges so be prepared to stay late for the best sport.

THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE
THE Bassetlaw festival OAP match is to take place on Tuesday 10th July at Sandhill Lake. The draw takes place at 9am with a £5 cost incurred – of which there will be a 100 per cent pay out.
