19th June 2008
WE start this week with the news that we are already getting reports from Ian Rich
ardson, the bailiff on the Worksop and DAA stretches on the Holme Marsh, that the River Trent is on fire with quality catches of bream and chub.
Ian reports that the banks were lined with a large number of anglers and everyone caught using a variety of methods and baits.
A couple of amendments, firstly to the Bob Gillbody memorial match details from Jays AC; the cost of the event is £15 and not £35 and the venue is confirmed as the Bonsia lake at Lindholme on Sunday 29th June with fishing from 4pm until 9pm.
For further details contact John on 07970 626353 but please note a deposit of £5 will be required upon registration.
The next correction is an apology to Denise and Tony Payne formerly of Worksop Piscatorial. We reported that Tony was the secretary assisted by Denise whereas it was in fact the reverse with Denise being responsible for the secretarial duties.
Local angler Mick Shaw left his rod holdall on the car park on the John Shaw's section of the canal on Friday 13th June.
When he returned to the venue the Tricast holdall together with all his poles and rods had disappeared and Mick is offering a reward for their safe return. Anyone with information can get in touch with us and we will pass on the details to Mick.
We would like to commend Reece Nicolson for his sterling work on keeping the Worksop Junior website up to date with all the pictures and results from the recent mini series now featuring.
We recommend you visit the site at www.worksopdaajuniors.piczo.com
