Volunteers tidy up Torksey Lock pegs
PEGS
at Torksey Lock got a clean up as volunteers from the executive committee
carried out maintenance work last weekend.
And Saturday’s tide, plus the extra water in the Trent, saw the levels
extra high but it was pleasing to see many anglers catching quality roach
on hemp and tares.
Bailiff Ken Bradshaw informed Worksop and District Angling Association’s
Mick Pogson that during the week, when the tides were more favourable,
nets of up to 30lb of mainly roach with the odd big perch were being caught.
Small club matches can be staged, during the winter months, by contacting
WDAA match booking secretary Richard Brunt on Worksop 01909 489109.
Please remember, that boat owners wanting to moor up on the staging have
priority over anglers either pleasure or match fishing. However, boat
traffic is very low at this time of the year, and relatively non-existent
during the winter months.
Prospects
Lakeside Ranskill
- Weekend match weights won with over 70lbs of carp and silver fish.
And backing weights of 40lbs plus were needed to be in the frame. Best
method was pole and worm or meat.
A pleasure catch from peg 30 had over 100lb of carp to 15lb 10oz on bomb
and meat fished over sweetcorn.
On the Carp Lake, a Manchester angler caught a seven fish bag to 28lb
6oz of mirror on peg 4 using boilies.
And on the Trout Lake Worksop angler Peter Brunt’s catch was noted
as he caught and released 17 fish on black buzzers.

at 9am.
Permit holders matches will also be held throughout the winter months
every Saturday. Draw 9am, fish 10am to 3pm, £5 all-in. Contact Malc
