North Notts Show is now cancelled

Due to unforeseen circumstances the North Notts Angling Show has been cancelled.
It was scheduled to take place in Worksop on Saturday 16th October at the Bassetlaw Centre on Eastgate.
“We have come to this decision because of the basic lack of interest and apathy,” said Julie Overend and Tracey Dyson of Kilton Pre-school, who were joint organisers.
They went on: “We initially had umpteen enquiries and preliminary bookings but eventually only 50 per cent of these materialised into genuine bookings.”
“It is a sad affair, all told, when all we wished to achieve was an angling spectacle where a great amount of money could be generated for the various charities.”
“We had help from all quarters including Guardian angling columnist Martin Introna, who arranged for many angling celebrities to attend to give talks and demonstrations.”
“He also assisted in designing a website for us. We would like to thank everyone who distributed posters and suchlike promoting the show.”
“In a nutshell, we were not going to carry on with a show which was 50 per cent down on traders.”
“Not one single Worksop angling trader showed any interest apart from Go Baits of Langold, who booked a double stand.”
“The owner, Stewart Goulding, was said to be very disappointed. It was an excellent idea that turned sour.”
