Stott
victorious
The annual
British Waterways commemorative junior angling competition was held on
the Grafton-controlled John Shaws section of the Chesterfield canal at
Worksop last Friday.
The match started at 6pm, and considering the weather during the day was
pretty inclement with heavy showers, they were greeted with overcast conditions
with the occasional sunny periods.
Fishing in two age groups 10 to 12s and 13 to 16s, they were all fishing
for a fine selection of prizes sponsored by British Waterways and supplied
by Ken Wards.
All the participants caught, with the overall winner, Michael Scott, fishing
in the 13 to 16s group, putting 10.25kg on the scales.
Second in that group was Jason Goulding with 7.550kg and Patrick Goulding
took third with 5.360kg.
The winner of the 10 to 12s section was Danny Harding with 10kg followed
by Thomas Davenport with 3.7kg. Third was Jason Goulding with 7.6kg, edging
his brother Patrick, into fourth place with 5.4kg.
Grafton secretary Mick Simpson thanked sponsors British Waterways, and
all officials who helped out.
