Farm's Young Peoples Fishing Club

Heeley City Farm is Sheffield's award-winning working farm, environmental
enterprise, training centre and free visitor attraction.
The farm is a registered charity relying on fundraising, enterprising
activities and the support of local people and organisations to fund
their work.
The stars of the farm are the friendly animals, many of them being of
the rare breed variety. The farm has a cafe which provides great tasting,
low cost vegetarian food with home grown or locally sourced produce.
There's a children's play area, a visitors shop and gardens to visit.
They also run training courses in horticulture, renewable energy/efficiency,
basic skills, ESOL, training for people with learning difficulties and
volunteering/work experience. There's a lot on offer - give them a visit
if you are in the area.
Best of all...
They run a fishing club! Yes I know we are bias - but let's be honest,
if you are reading this - you're an out-and-out angler.
The Heeley City Farm's Young Peoples Fishing Club is open to any young
person, male or female aged from 13 to 20 years, please contact the
farm for more details.
The pictures on the left are from a club visit to Elm Tree Fisheries,
in Rotherham, I reckon they all had a good time!
The picture of the two youngsters peering into the keepnet really sums
what our sport is all about, you can imagine them counting just how
many fish they have caught - and who's got the biggest?
Credit where credit is due - the organisers are doing their bit to introduce
youngsters to angling.
You can contact the farm by Tel: 0114 258 0482 or visit their website
www.heeleyfarm.org.uk
or if you are in Sheffield - pop along to see them on Richards Road,
Heeley, Sheffield S2 3DT, they are open everyday except Christmas Day,
9am to 4pm.
Our thanks to Jake O'Melia for the info.
