Early
season match details revealed to members by WDAA
Worksop
and District Anglers Association (WDAA) have disclosed details of the
early season events that are taking place for their members and these
are as follows:
The Annual Delegates (Officials and Book Holders) Match is scheduled to
take place at Sandhill Lake on Saturday 31st May. The entry fee is £5,
the draw will take place at 8.30am and fishing will be from 9.30am until
3.30pm. Applications should be submitted on the official forms that are
in the hands of club secretaries and these should be returned to Derek
Brown 4, Dove Close, Worksop, Notts S81 7LG before the 28th May as the
event is limited to 70 pegs.
The Senior Citizens match is scheduled to take place at Hallcroft Fisheries
on Saturday 7th June.
The entry fee is £5 (this is to be paid back in prizes), the draw
will take place at 8.30am and fishing will be from 10am until 3pm.
The event is limited to 120 pegs, tea and coffee will be available to
all competitors prior to the draw.
If any individual wishes to purchase a breakfast, they should inform Derek
Brown before the 2nd June so that the caterers can be informed.
After the match there will be a free pie, chips and peas dinner at around
4pm.
All competitors must be in possession of a current rod licence and a WDAA
members book.
There are certain restrictions at the fishery and these must be strictly
adhered to or any individual not complying will be asked to leave the
complex.
These rules are as follows:
* Barbless hooks only
* Maximum of 1kg of ground bait that can only be used with a pole cup
or swim feeder
* No hempseed
* Floating hook baits only
* All nets to be dipped before use
* No fish to be handled in cloths or rags
* No Fish to be taken off site
* No method feeders
* No braided lines
* No stones in keep-nets
Allocation of places for this competition will be on a first come, first
served basis and applications should be submitted on the official forms
that are in the hands of club secretaries.
These should then be returned to Derek Brown 4, Dove Close, Worksop, Notts.
S81 7LG as soon as possible and cheques should be made payable to Worksop
and District Anglers Association.

has Easter Break to Remember
Bircotes
teenager Daniel Makepeace had an Easter Holidays to enjoy when he caught
a whopping 22lb mirror carp
The 15-year old, who attends Bircotes and Harworth School, hooked his
catch while visiting relatives in Portsmouth.
The carp, which came from the MBK Lakes at Liss, beat Daniels previous
best-ever single weight of 5lb with ease.

Greyhound
members fished at Sookhome Lake at Shirebrook where Steve Armitage took
the honours with 6lb 13oz of skimmers, roach and tench using worm on the
feeder method.
Phil Moore was second with 5lb 4oz using similar tactics and the remaining
weights were Keith Morris 4lb 3oz, Wilf Salmon 2lb 14oz.

Angling Society members should note that the next meeting is scheduled
to take place at the Greendale Hotel on Sunday 18th May starting at 7.30pm.
The main item on the agenda is subscriptions for the following year.
South Carlton AC members should note that the annual general meeting is
scheduled to take place on Tuesday 20th May at the Greyhorses Hotel at
Carlton starting at 7.30pm.
Subscriptions should be paid on or before this date and these can be paid
at Go Baits Tackle at Langold

Worksop Piscatorial members should note that the first match is scheduled
to take place on the High School section of the Chesterfield Canal on
Sunday 1st June and names should be submitted to the secretary as soon
as possible.
Any of the senior members wishing to take part in the WDAA Association
match at Hallcroft on Saturday the 7th June should also notify the secretary
of their intentions.
Worksop United will be staging a permit holders match on their Bracebridge
section of the Chesterfield Canal on Wednesday 21st May when the draw
will take place at 5pm. The entry fee is £5 all-inclusive.
The first club match is scheduled to take place on the same section on
Sunday 1st June. Any member intending to fish this match should notify
the secretary as soon as possible.
Grafton
Permits
Current
Grafton permit holders intending to renew membership for next season starting
on the 16th June will be given until the end of May as first option for
the limited number of permits.
They must return their old permits at the same time as registering their
names on the list. If they cannot produce their old permit they will have
to register their name on the waiting list.
This list is also available to any new applicant and to avoid disappointment
current permit holders are strongly advised to return their old permits
as soon as possible.
