Foulds nets England spot for World Youths

Best wishes are extended to young Worksop angler Terry Foulds who is now in Portugal as part of the Drennan Team England Junior squad who are competing in the World Youth Championships this weekend.

Terry who is a member of the Worksop and District Anglers Association (WDAA) Junior angling squad is the fourth individual from the magnificent Worksop team to represent their country on the World championship stage.

He follows in the footsteps of Colin Webster (team gold medallist in Belgium 1997) and Andrew Pickersgill and Marc Foy (team bronze medallists in Italy 2002).

Terry and his father Glenn, who is the current team manager of the WDAA junior and intermediate squads, set off to Portugal last weekend after Terry had won the annual Friday night competition on Sandhill Lake (see report below for full results).

The England Junior and Youth squads will be practicing on the venue all week and hopefully Terry – who is being sponsored by Geoff Mawby of Gateford Angling Supplies on Gateford Road – will be back home next week as the proud owner of a gold medal.
