Pike Fly with origins
in England
This
is a Pike Fly with origins closer to home.
This is a very simple
pattern, tied a bit slimmer than its
european cousins and indeed as time has gone on anglers in England have
taken to tying these even slimmer to enable them to cast them with standard
fly rods.
The hook size for
this one would be 2/0 5/0 and the wing is bucktail , an epoxy head with
wobbly eyes, plus lots of pearly material for the tail.
