Wansford Trout & Coarse Fishery

JUST outside Wansford you will find the nicely-sized ponds of Wansford Trout and Coarse Fishery.
These two ponds are well stocked and you should have a cracking days fishing whatever species you are chasing

The coarse pond is full of good-sized fish to catch with carp up to 20lb being caught on sweetcorn and meat as are the tench, with the biggest being weighed in at over 7lbs. There are also plenty of silver fish being caught on maggot.

A full day’s fishing will cost you £3 and £1 for an extra rod and you can set up from 7am until dark and for an evening session (5.30pm onwards) you can fish for just £2. Open matches are sometimes held on the pond should you fancy winning some money!

THE Trout Lake is superbly designed in the shape of the letter U and is stocked weekly. There are some super specimen fish with the largest caught just short of 20lb and is still roaming the water should you fancy a rod-bender!

A full days fishing, keeping three fish, will cost you £15 or £10 for half a day and two fish. And for no fish (sporting day) it is £8 for a full day and £5 half a day. Corporate bookings are taken.

Directions: From Driffield, head to Wansford and drive straight through the village past the Trout Inn pub, round the next bend and the fishery is about 150 yards on your right.
