| Chub are river fish with big mouths and a hungry appetite. They will eat virtually anything. Its great fun to watch Chub in the shallow, clear rivers where they can be seen moving in and out of cover such as overhanging trees | One of the best ways of targeting them is to blend into the bankside vegetation and creep up on them. But they are wary, so you must be quiet and still. Feed a few small chunks of chopped luncheon meat and let a cube of meat on a size 6 hook and 5lb line trundle into their lair. | Bites are very aggressive, walloping the quiver tip around. You'll have to bully the fish away from the snag | Lovely Chubly. But that will have disturbed this swim, so its time to move downstream to the next. |
