Catch are back!
Helping to get youngsters into angling
HBraving the
recent cold conditions at Poolsbrook Country Park - local youngsters
with NFA angling coaches
Chesterfield Anglers, Tutors, Coaches, Helpers (C.A.T.C.H.) - are back
on the banks helping wannabe anglers try their hand at the country's
favourite participant sport - angling.
National Federation of Anglers licensed angling coaches Tony Bagshaw,
Lew Lawton, Paul Lewis and Kevin Finnigan are holding coaching sessions
at Poolsbrook Country Park on Sunday mornings throughout the summer
- the sessions are totally free of charge with all the equipment and
bait supplied. Participants are asked to wear clothing and footwear
suitable for the occasion.
Tony Bagshaw, secretary for CATCH said: 'By removing barriers of cost
and availability, we are giving youngsters aged 8 to 18, the chance
to have a go at angling and hopefully it will lead to a life-long activity
- everyone will be made very welcome.'
Tony further added: 'We are planning to organise away-day sessions at
various fisheries throughout the Midlands, enabling youngsters to visit
different venues and explore other angling methods and techniques.'
CATCH is funded by Derbyshire Community Foundation, the Environment
Agency and Staveley Neighbourhood Management Project.
