Barbel are a packet of muscle and are known as the hardest fighting fish in the river. You can often spot them moving in and out of beds of streamer weed. | A great way to target barbel if to trundle a lob worm through gaps in the weed. | Barbel don't mess about. If you get a bite, you'll know about it. Barbel grow to over 16 lb, but even a two pounder will pull your rod in if you're not careful. | Phew!
